Upgrade Girl…

Perhaps this may appear to be a topic that is best suited in the Scam Forum, however it is best to be discussed early since it is not as it appears.

In general, Russian Women are great shoppers;). They have to be since the little money they have has to last long and go far.  The search for quality items at the right price can be exhausting.  There is little impulse buying.  Often, the desired quality items will be in short supply or cost outside their price range.  With some very hard thinking on the degree of need, they may decide to downgrade their quality expectations in order to upgrade the affordability.  Once they do buy an item, they will go over it with a fine toothcomb to see if there are any defects.  If a defect is found or it doesn’t work as advertised, they will return it promptly since the return window is typically one or two days if not at all.  RW certain don’t want to waste their reserves on an item that falls short of their expectations.

Much of their sharp shopper instincts apply to husband shopping as well.  In the international dating arena, WM are in short supply.  Consequently, RW may downgrade their expectations on the quality of the WM in order to obtain one.  Straight-up economics applies here.

If the quality trade-off is large and/or there are defects or things are not as advertised the RW may have buyer’s remorse.  This is often exacerbated by the RW’s newfound level of worth in her adopted homeland.  In such cases the RW may contemplate or pursue returning her husband for a better one.  We all know that there is no expiration dates for getting a divorce.  This is the often-bantered “Trade-up Girl” syndrome.

If such an unfortunate situation occurs to a WM he may be prompted to pronounce that his RW (albeit GF, wife or ex-wife) is a GCG, scammer or both.  The point is to avoid being betwen this rock and hard place in the first place…

Bear in mind that any RW is a potential "Trade-up Girl."  As a matter of fact, it can be said that all Women are potential varieties of this.  The only difference with RW is that you will often find out where you stand in the relationship much faster.

What are your recourses if it turns out your RW is a trade-up girl?  She has to wait until she has her green card first or she can be deported?  Or can she just go from one marriage to another quick enough to avoid the INS?

I have read on a government website about RWs 'staging' abuse, calling the cops, and then getting their green-card through a stream-lined abusive-spouse process.

The government is thinking about redesigning the system because of that though...

RQRose,

A true dyed in the wool upgrade girl will not tip her hat intentionally till she is well rooted in her new homeland.  By the time a WM discover her plans, it is often too late to do anything.  Often, the AM is so emotionally vested that the hardest problem is for him to come to grips with the truth when it is being waved in front of his face.

RW wife staying out to all hours of the night/morning, saying she is just out with her girlfriends. It's amazing how mach and far a AM husband can rationalize this.  She could be scouting out her next potential husband.

The best thing to do is to not marry her in the first place.  One ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure.  This is where doing your homework before meeting RW helps.

If an AM married such a RW, then the best thing to do is to cut your loss and get a speedy divorce before she could rake you over the coals financially.

The USCIS will get involved in cases of fraud.  Proving it is difficult unless you have a paper trail and few upgrade girls will leave that lying around.  Even if they do, you won’t be able to make heads or tails out of it.

P.S.  Which gov’t site is that?

I've been researching this so much information lately.  I'll try to figure out which website I saw it on...
